Almon Garry Butterfield

U.S. Veteran

Garry Butterfield, 77, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 11, 2012. He was born January 26, 1935 in Murray, UT to Floyd and Alice Butterfield. He married Carolyn Carson in the Provo, UT LDS temple.

Garry was a saddle-bronc rider and bricklayer after high school. He later joined the army and was stationed in Germany during World War II as part of the 9th infantry division. After returning from the war he became a brick mason for the remainder of his life. He worked for Little America Company until he retired in 2007.

He is survived by sons Karson (Heather) Butterfield and Kelton (Codi) Butterfield, 9 grandchildren, brother Robert Butterfield, sisters Verla Harris and Gayla Brinkerhoff. He is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn and son Denton.

The family would like to thank Inspiration Hospice (Tami) and Abbington Manor for their tender care of Dad.

A viewing will be held Sunday evening July 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi and also Monday morning an hour prior to the services. Funeral service will be held at the Cedar Fort LDS Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Monday July 16th at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Fairfield Cemetery. Online guest book at wingmortuary.com.
