Al Steven Yardley at the age of 69 passed away at St.Mark's Hospital on August 20, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family members as he passed due to complications from an auto accident.
He was born in Clark County, Nevada to Al Stewart Yardley and Sandra Hall Yardley on April 27, 1952. He graduated from Beaver High School and later received his education from UVU with a bachelor's degree in social work.
Al was a manager for both JB Big Boys and Village Inn. In 1979 he joined the Utah Army National Guard and became a part of the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he served as a Green Beret for 28 years. He was deployed on four occasions overseas. After retirement Al went to work with the Veteran Affairs and influenced many lives.
Mr. Yardley's passions included volunteering at the Fisher House, helping youth groups at the rappel tower, wood burning pictures and spending family time at the cabin.
He met his sweetheart, Ruth, on a blind date and they were married on December 14th 1985. They were later sealed in the Jordan River temple.
Surviving are his wife Ruth Pollock Yardley, his children Ryan, Amy, Amanda (Bobby), Daryl (Amelia), Preston, Taylor, Lee (Crystal), 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Mavrick Yardley, and his mother Sandra Hall Yardley.
Funeral services will be conducted at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, Utah, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah on Friday, August 27th. Viewing will be from 10am to noon. Following will be a short funeral service and graveside held at 12:30pm.
