Obituary

Our beloved, Al, husband, dad, and "papa" passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, in Lehi, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother Myrtle Mildred Sullivan Dayes, father Albert Rudolph Dayes, sister Beryl Etheline Dayes Halverson, and first wife Carollyn Leona Hamilton Dayes. He is survived by his sister Doris Dayes Nemeroff, second wife Barbara Janis Dayes, son "Trey" Alberte Randolph Dayes III (Staci), grandchildren "Randy" Alberte Randolph Dayes IV (Vanessa), Alexandra Lynn Dayes Clark (Alex), Mallori Lynn Dayes Bush (Eli), Ashlyn Joan Dayes, Dallin Edward Dayes (Emaree), great-grandsons, Crew Alberte Randolph Dayes, Taft James Dayes, and expected baby Clark.


Alberte Randolph Dayes II was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 5, 1934. He attended P. S. 204 in Brooklyn and Merrick Grammer School. He went to Wellington C. Mepham High School.  He was on the wrestling team and played in the band. He played with the high school band in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. He attended BYU and then transferred to Florida State where he received a BS in Math.


He served a mission in the Northern California Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Carollyn Leona Hamilton Dayes on July 1, 1965, in the Los Angeles, CA Temple. He worked as a rocket scientist for various companies and then went to Dental School at Georgetown in Washington DC. He opened a dental practice in San Jose and later Morgan Hill, CA and worked as a dentist for many years. After his wife Carollyn passed in 1998, he met and married Barbara Janis Dayes on June 6, 2002, in San Jose, CA. He and Barbara served missions in the Philippines and Palmyra, NY. He and Barbara also served as temple workers in the Sacramento Temple.


Al, loved skiing, playing basketball, watching BYU Football, and cookies.


There will be a Graveside service for Al on Saturday June 15, 2024, at 10:00 am, at the Hooper, Utah City Cemetery at 5290 S. 6300 W.  Hooper, UT 84315.
