Alonzo "Kent" Ahlstrom 1946 – 2020. Our tenderhearted dad who was fierce and adventurous was taken tragically in a car crash on Christmas Day.
Kent was born on April 5, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kay and Ruth Ahlstrom and was the second of four children. Kent married the love of his life and eternal sweetheart, Julie in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple 52 years ago. He was the proud father of four children, Leslie (Dirk), Luanne, Lonny (Cris) and Stephanie (Kurt). As much as he loved his children, his grandchildren
were truly the apple of his eye.

Our dad dedicated his life to family and serving others. He served four Spanish speaking missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with our mom on his side for three of those missions. In addition, he participated in annual humanitarian projects at small villages
in Mexico.

For the last several years, he has spent as much time as possible volunteering at the temple, Bishops Storehouse and Family History Library. During this time, he has also added hundreds of
thousands of names to our family genealogy.

Over the years, dad's love of the outdoors was instilled in all of us, and we have passed that on to our children. Our parents also taught us at a young age that there is no greater blessing than working hard and serving others. It didn't matter what we were doing as long as we did it
together.

We know he was loved by so many people and as much as we would love to celebrate his life in
person with you all, we will be holding a small private graveside service for immediate family only. However, we would still love to hear your stories and memories of our dad, so please post them below or send them to one of us directly.

As a final goodbye to dad, we would ask our family and friends, wherever you are in the world,
to wear a plaid shirt in his honor this Wednesday, December 30th. Post pictures on social media using #plaidfordad.
