Alta Irene
Chatwin
Oct 3, 1946 — Sep 3, 2021
After a long and difficult battle with emphysema, Alta Irene Chatwin passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 3, 2021, surrounded by her husband and children.
Alta was born on October 3, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold and Vivian Morris. Alta married her best friend, Reo, for time on July 18, 1977. Alta and Reo were later sealed for eternity in the Mount Timponogos Temple on December 6, 1997.
Alta loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than life itself. She was a strong, fun, energetic, loving, and dedicated mother who raised seven honorable children who love their Heavenly Father. Before she fell ill, she was so full of life. She loved nature and going for long rides. She was talented and drew amazing pictures with chalk, charcoal, and oil paints.
Halloween was one of her favorite holidays. She loved to create amazing costumes out of whatever she had in the house and would happily make costumes for friends and neighborhood children as well. Mom truly was a woman of service. She loved visitors and enjoyed whipping up a meal any time family or friends came from out of town. She enjoyed watching westerns, a tradition that began with her dad. She loved playing games and looked forward to her weekly game night with her siblings. She loved dancing, baking, gardening, and being outdoors.
We take solace in knowing that our sweet wife and mother is no longer bound by her physical impairments and can do all the things she hasn't been able to do for over 12 years.
Alta was welcomed into her Heavenly home by her parents Harold and Vivian Morris, parents-in-law John and Patricia Minardi, siblings Stephen and Kathleen Morris, brother-in-law Rodney Chatwin, Grandparents, and Great Grandparents. She is survived by her husband Reo Chatwin, daughters; Barbara Bruner (Mick), Brenda Spencer (Adam Johnson), Tammy Miner, Traci Hulet (Corry), MaLissa Pahl (Ryan) and Patricia Chatwin, son Reo Deloy Chatwin Jr. (Melissa) 26 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Bob, Tom, Sam, Shane, Utahna, Peggy, Gaylynne, Valerie, Sarah and Debbie.
Although we are happy that she is no longer burdened by her physical body, she will be sorely missed by her family and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Friday 10 September 2021, at 11:00 A.M. MDT at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2977 E Saddle Rock Rd. Eagle Mountain, UT.
