Obituary

Ammon Chandler Blake, beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend passed away on May 25, 2021 in Saratoga Springs, Utah due to injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born in West Jordan, Utah on September 23, 2004 to Chandler Blake and Shanda Blake.

Ammon was such a kind young man. From an early age and throughout his life he looked for ways to serve, particularly his brothers and sisters. He loved to go on late night drives with his siblings for treats just to spend time with them and make them feel important. He also loved to help them with their homework. He was respectful and obedient to his parents. Ammon was a leader in quiet and humble ways and was a friend to everyone.

Ammon had an enthusiasm for life and a contagious smile which was matched by the amazing light that shone around him. His light attracted the best group of friends and experiences such as, spending hours at the marina, countless games of spikeball, working out, playing basketball and the thrill of recently attending his first prom. His friends loved his curly hair and some of them even got perms to join in on the fun of it.

Ammon was known for his competitive nature and athleticism. He loved basketball and you could often find him on the courts throughout Saratoga Springs. He was also a member of the Westlake High School Track Team and was one of the fastest sprinters. To the amazement of many, Ammon could stand on flat ground and do a backflip.

His athleticism paralleled his intelligence. From a young age he loved board games and strategy. He had a keen mind and excelled in academic pursuits, especially math. He was interested in stocks, sharing recently with family and friends that he wanted to become a stockbroker when he grew up.

Ammon loved music. He played the piano, ukulele, guitar, and had a good singing voice.

Ammon's life was too brief, but he will live in our hearts forever. We count ourselves blessed to have felt his love and witnessed his example.

He is survived by his father and mother, Chandler Blake and Shanda Blake, his siblings Alyssa McCord (Asa), Kymber, Makayla, Jacey, Brock and Tyson.

He is also survived by his grandparents, many extended family, and amazing friends.

Ammon is preceded in death by his cousin, Hannah.

The Blake family wishes to thank the community and family and friends for their outpouring of love and support during this time.
