Anne Etta Sullivan Mortensen, 80, passed away on March 9, 2024, in Draper, Utah. Anne departed this world peacefully, leaving a legacy of kindness and service.

Anne was born on September 4, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Horace Sullivan and Etta Butler. She was raised in Salt Lake City. She was warmly loved by stepmother Gertrude, whose influence profoundly shaped her life. Anne possessed extraordinary resilience throughout her life as she faced various obstacles that began with being born prematurely. She grew up with two older brothers, Wendall and Michael, who looked after her. Later, Rex, her younger brother, joined the family. Anne graduated from Granite High School.

Anne's life was profoundly enriched by a beautiful union with Boyd Mortensen, whom she married on April 19, 1962, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. As a young couple, Anne and Boyd lived in Germany and enjoyed their time there; Anne spoke of those years fondly.  The couple welcomed their first child, Lisa, as a delightful souvenir of their time in Germany. Later, they settled in Eugene, Oregon, expanding their family with Justin and Michelle. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of marriage for 45 years until Boyd's passing in 2007. In 2016, Anne returned to her Utah roots, residing in Lehi and later in Draper in an assisted living facility.

Anne was a lifelong, steadfast member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Anne dedicated her life to selflessly serving others. She held various callings, including Relief Society President and Primary President, and volunteered for LDS Social Services.

She was a homemaker but engaged in home-based businesses through the years of raising children. She blessed countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on those she touched. Despite facing Alzheimer's disease later in life, Anne maintained her radiant spirit and kind and gentle manner.

Anne's positive outlook extended to everyone she encountered, and she saw the light of Christ within each person. Known for her gracious demeanor, she had the ability to uplift others, offer compliments generously, and express gratitude for every gift received, which reflected her kind nature. She was the epitome of a loving mother and considered her children as her life's crowning achievement. She was a devoted wife, providing exemplary care for her husband during his later years while he suffered from long-term illness. Her family and friends will always remember her infectious laugh and smile. She had a knack for organizing and planning and was always the go-to person to get things done. She enjoyed scrapbooking, and home decorating and also deeply loved genealogy, which she pursued with dedication.

Anne has joined her loved ones in eternal peace: her husband Boyd, her parents, and brothers Michael and Rex. Anne is survived by her brother Wendall, three children, Lisa (Gordon), Justin (Anne), and Michelle (Trevor), along with 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in Lehi, Utah, on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. at 828 South Center Street.  Family and friends may call one hour prior in the Relief Society Room.

Interment and graveside service will take place, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Eugene, Oregon. Friends are welcome to attend.
