Our beloved mom, grandma, "grandma-great," and "dog mom" to Koby, Barbara Kathryn Bishop Gaufin, age 84, returned home to her Heavenly Father on June 15, 2025, surrounded by love.

Barbara was born on February 27, 1941, in Provo, Utah, to Gordon Taylor and Anna Kathryn Reynolds Bishop. She grew up with her family between Logandale, Nevada, and Delta, Utah, and graduated from Moapa Valley High School in Overton, Nevada, in 1959.

After high school, Barbara moved to Salt Lake City where she worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a switchboard operator. Not long after, she met and married the love of her life, Kent Burgner Gaufin. They were sealed on July 28, 1961, in the Manti Utah Temple, beginning a beautiful 58-year journey together.

Soon after their marriage, Kent's Utah Army National Guard unit was called to active duty, and they spent their first year together in Olympia, Washington, where their first daughter, DeAnn, was born. Following Kent's graduation, their little family moved to Hanford, California for three years. Upon returning to Utah, they were blessed with their second daughter, Sidney.

Barbara's life was full of love, service, and devotion to her family and her faith. She supported Kent in building their family business, Lake Builders Supply in Lehi, Utah, and also fulfilled a dream of her own by opening a dress shop with her dear friend, Linda. Later, their adventures took them to Glendale, Arizona, where Barbara worked as an office assistant before eventually returning to Lehi, Utah, where they built their final home together.

Barbara was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. But more than any title or assignment, Barbara simply loved to serve. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity touched countless lives. She had a gift for making everyone feel special and loved.

Throughout their life, Barbara and Kent embraced every new adventure together. Whether it was golfing, camping, hunting, running, boating, or working at Yellowstone National Park, they faced every new season hand-in-hand, fully committed to every moment. Barbara always supported Kent's dreams, and together they created a life filled with laughter, love, and beautiful memories.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters: DeAnn (Phil) Phillips of Lehi, Utah, and Sidney (Shane) Jensen of Thatcher, Idaho; six grandchildren: Derek (Kimber) Phillips, Bryce (Andi) Phillips, Cameron (Kjirsten) Phillips, Layce (Lars) Jensen, Jace (Kylie) Jensen, Josie (Rylie) Clemens; and fourteen great-grandchildren who were her joy later in life. She is also survived by her siblings: Eccles, Dale, Mary Ellis, Marsha, Paul, Melanie, Colleen, Linda, Max, and Cindy. She now rejoins her four brothers who preceded her in death: Darnell, Don, John, and Alma.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sego Lily Ward Chapel, 880 North 700 East, Lehi, Utah. Friends and family may gather that morning at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in the Lehi City Cemetery.

Barbara's life was one of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
