Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blaine R. Thrasher on December 3, 2024, at the age of 93. He passed away peacefully in his sleep due to complications from Alzheimers.


Blaine  was born November 30, 1931 to Edwin James (Ted) and Adelaide (Roberts) Thrasher in Lehi.  He was the second youngest of 7 children.  He attended school in Lehi, and graduated from Lehi High School in 1950.


Blaine was a member of  The Utah Army National Guard, he was activated  to the Regular Army on September 23, 1953. During his service in the Army, he was stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. While there, he met the love of his life, Margaret Ann Hoffman (Marge). He was released from active duty on September 22, 1955. He returned to Utah, called Marge in New Jersey, asked her to come to Utah and marry him, and on October 19, 1955 they were married. Their marriage lasted for 39 years, until Marge passed away, due to complications from cancer, on December 18, 1994.


From 1951 to 1953, Blaine worked at the United States Steel Geneva Plant in Vineyard, Utah. After serving 2 years in the Regular Army, he returned to work at the Geneva Steel Plant, he worked there for 37 years.


Through the years, Blaine maintained a close association with friends from his days working at The Geneva Steel Plant, his side business of Thrasher Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Repair, and one of his favorite things to do, Bowling.


Other activities that he enjoyed doing were Boating, especially at Lake Powell, he went there many times with family and friends, Everybody Overboard. Riding ATVs and UTVs, primarily at the Sand Dunes, and Traveling. In any activity that he was involved with, there were always countless memories made.


Blaine was preceded in death by his wife Marge, parents, Ted and Adelaide Thrasher, his stepmother Florence (Humphry) Thrasher, his 2 older brothers, Leo and Dee, and his 3 older sisters, Marie, Beth and Madge He is survived by his 4 children, Stephanie Arnesen, Bob Thrasher, Michelle Berry,  Craig Thrasher, his 5 grandchildren, his 3 great grandchildren, and his younger brother Kent Thrasher.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Wing Mortuary 118 E Main Lehi, UT at 12:00 PM.


Blaine will be interred in the Lehi City Cemetery on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
