Ever the night owl, our beautiful and unique mother, Blanchet Whitelock Hadfield, left this life during the night of June 30, 2022 surrounded by loved ones and angels as they welcomed her to the other side.

Blanchet loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was born in Payson, Utah on March 31, 1938, to Chet and Blanche Whitelock. She was the second of four children. She graduated from Payson High School in 1956. The following summer she reigned as Miss Harvest Day Queen. One day while working in her parents' soda shop a handsome young man walked in. It was love at first sight for them and she married Spenst Hansen in 1957. They were married 25 years and together they had six daughters: Michelle, Bridget, Heidi, Amy, Katie and Megan. They later divorced.

Mom had the ability to create beauty wherever she was. As an interior designer she shared her gift with those around her. Blanchet had the ability to light up a room and made many lifelong friends. There was always room for others in her home. She loved Christmas and it was not unusual to have holiday décor displayed July through February. At one point, she had her own Christmas boutique so she could enjoy the holiday year-round.

Blanchet later met her eternal companion, Carl Hadfield, at a church dance. They were married September 30, 1994, and she became stepmother to an additional six children: Carrie, Lynell, Shawn, Laurie, Brian and Kevin. They lived a beautiful life in Lehi, Utah, creating quilts and dolls together. Their combined grandchildren enjoyed visiting for popcorn, ice cream, sing-a-longs and pumpkins from Grandpa Carl's pumpkin patch. Carl passed away February 17, 2016. Blanchet spent her later years in Orem where she continued to make friends and bring beauty and laughter to those around her.

Blanchet was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hadfield, brother, R Dale (Karma) Whitelock, and daughter, Amy (Arnaldo) Hansen, parents, Chester Leroy and Blanche Loraine Daley Whitelock. She is survived by her brother, Mac Arthur Whitelock, sister Rena (Rick) Pikyavit, and her daughters Michelle (Don) Morrison, Bridget (Kinley) Peterson, Heidi Hansen, Katie (Andy) Alder, and Megan (Bryan) Morris. Her stepchildren: Carrie (Larry) Biggs, Lynell (John) Smith, Shawn (Roxanne), Laurie (Rick) Barlow, Brian (Melody), and Kevin (Karrie). She and Carl had 53 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Visitation Friday, July 8, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

The service will be live streamed on the Wing Mortuary Facebook page when the funeral starts.
