On Sunday, May 2, 2021, Brandon Stanley Wanlass, beloved son and brother, passed away at the age of 40. Brandon was born on September 2, 1980 in Portland, OR to Stanley and Joy Wanlass as the third and "youngest" of three triplets born that day. Overall, he was the youngest of five children. He loved spending his early childhood In Astoria, OR, where he roamed the many acres of enchanted woods surrounding the Wanlass home with his four siblings, building and playing in tree houses and forest forts, foraging for wild berries (huckleberries, salmon berries, thimbleberries, etc.), riding his bike up and down the steep hills of Astoria, and setting records for the most broken bones (and injuries) in the family, and perhaps, the community at large. It was joked that a newly built wing at the local hospital was constructed to accommodate him. He was wired with a "leap before you look" disposition.

When the family moved to Utah, his daredevil ways continued. He grew into a teenage heartthrob and it was well known that he was the object of all the girls' secret or overt crushes and this was true whether toddler, teen, or elderly -- everyone loved Brandon! While he often tried to put forth a tough, street-smart persona, yielding to narrow societal pressures of "masculinity", he could hide from no one his tender caring heart and deep sensitivity. To those who knew him, it was apparent that he was an armadillo, cloaking himself in armour to protect his soft squishy insides. Brandon had a heart of gold, forgave easily and quickly, and never held a grudge. He chose always to see the best in people, even those who sought to take advantage of his kind nature. He was playful, a joker, and had an infectious laugh and mischievous grin. His wit and well-timed jokes served to lighten dark times and remind those around him not to take life too seriously. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Stanley and Joy, his siblings, Lincoln (April), Amber (Adam), Britton (Laura), Brandy (Clarence), and nieces and nephews, Tex, Eric, Kyra, Jay, Jaden, Dylan, and Logan.

Graveside services were held on May 8th, 2021 in the Lehi City Cemetery.
