Obituary

***Updated Location***

Brian Garn Holbrook, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 42 in his home on November 18, 2021, surrounded by his family after a long fight through bone cancer.

Brian was born to Stephen Garn and Gail Jeane Peterson Holbrook on December 29, 1978. He was the fourth of eleven children. He graduated from Lehi High School in 1997. Brian worked on the family farm from a young age with his father, uncle, brother, and many cousins. He learned the value of hard work and many skills that served him well in his life.

Brian served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Birmingham, England. His interest in firefighting sparked when he was serving his mission. Upon returning home, he attended the Fire Academy and later completed the Paramedic Program. He worked for various fire departments but spent the majority of his career with Logan City Fire Department. He enjoyed being an instructor at Bridgerland Technical College and also gained great experience working for University of Utah's AirMed.

Brian married his sweetheart, Samie Anderson, on August 23, 2003. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Brian considered his wife and four beautiful daughters, or "his girls", to be his greatest joy.

Brian loved doing outdoor adventures with his family such as fishing, mountain biking, hiking, paddle boarding, and taking his girls dirt biking. He served in various callings in the church, and especially loved working with the young men. Towards the end of his life he served as a counselor in the Bishopric and was blessed tremendously by his ward family.

Brian loved others and valued his relationships. He grew to be grateful for the trial that brought him closer to his Savior. He taught us "It was never about survival, it was always about salvation". He had an army of people who came to his aid and loved, supported, served, and strengthened him and his family through the hardest years of his life.

Brian is survived by his wife of 18 years, Samie, and his four daughters, Hallie, Breea, Mya and Averi. He is also survived by his father, Stephen Holbrook, and his 10 siblings. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gail Holbrook, and his grandparents, Garn and June Holbrook and Billie Jeane Peterson, and his niece Esther. We will miss him immeasurably and love him forever.
