Carla Ann
Francom
Sep 8, 1947 — Apr 27, 2021
Our dear mom, sister and friend, Carla Ann Francom, was born September 8, 1947, to Carl LuRay and Iola Christensen Francom in Payson, Utah. She passed away peacefully on April 27, 2021, with her family by her side after a long battle with breast cancer.
Carla, the oldest of five, couldn't wait to be a mom. She married Michael Albert Brown, who became the father of their first five children. She later married Adrian Aldredge, and they had one daughter together.
Whether family or friends, Carla loved people and enjoyed getting together. Many fun camping trips, parties, gatherings and adventures were had with Carla. She also loved trips with her many friends and her kids. Always thoughtful, she remembered and celebrated special holidays and the birthdays of her many family members.
She always made sure everyone felt welcome in her home, especially at Christmas, tucking away a few extra gifts to give any unexpected visitors.
Her kindness, generosity, along with her work ethic and extreme determination, were all qualities that describe her best. She was continually improving her home and beautifying her surroundings.
Carla had many jobs but finally settled on a career with the Utah Department of Corrections, where she was a valued, dependable employee for 31 years, from 1984-2015. She decided to become a post-certified officer at 58 years old.
She was truly a generous, selfless person and treasured every one of her children and grandchildren.
Carla is survived by three siblings, Julie (Darrell) Mills, Jan Francom, and Kevin (Sally) Francom; her six children, Cheri (Bret) Oldham, Kristi Brown, Michelle Brown (Sam Robinson), Ryan Brown, Clint Brown and Katie (David) Hardy, 18 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kent Francom, and a great-grandchild, Maky Oldham.
A viewing in Carla's honor will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main Street, Lehi. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 11 a.m. in the Levan, Utah Cemetery, after which a picnic and celebration will be held in her honor at the Levan Park.
