Carlos Diaz, born on October 31, 1936, in Ereguayquín, El Salvador, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the age of 89, in Eagle Mountain, Utah. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will be cherished by his wife Angélica, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage, and by his family for generations to come.

From a very young age, Carlos learned the value of hard work and sacrifice. He left elementary school to work and help support his parents while caring for his seven younger siblings—a responsibility he embraced with love and dedication throughout his life. His greatest achievement was providing for his family and ensuring they had opportunities to move forward that he himself never had.

Carlos was a joyful man who loved to laugh and brought happiness wherever he went. Family was always his greatest priority, and he consistently put his loved ones first. He was a devoted father to six daughters, a proud grandfather to sixteen grandchildren, and a loving great-grandfather to ten great-grandchildren.

He was a passionate soccer fan and proudly supported his favorite teams, C.D. Dragón and FC Barcelona. Carlos also loved listening to music, especially marimba, which brought him great joy. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to the park, and playfully putting on his boots to walk into the cold river waters in the mountains. One of his greatest pleasures was visiting El Salvador and taking road trips to places filled with childhood memories and stories from his early years.

Carlos Diaz will be remembered for his joyful spirit, strong work ethic, and the deep, unconditional love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through the generations he leaves behind and the many lives he touched.

Dejó la escuela primaria para trabajar y ayudar a sus padres, al mismo tiempo que cuidaba de sus siete hermanos menores, una responsabilidad que asumió con amor y dedicación a lo largo de su vida. Su mayor logro fue proveer para su familia y asegurarse de que tuvieran oportunidades para salir adelante que él mismo nunca tuvo.

Carlos era un hombre alegre, que amaba reír y llevar felicidad a dondequiera que iba. La familia siempre fue su mayor prioridad, y constantemente puso a sus seres queridos en primer lugar. Fue un padre dedicado de seis hijas, un orgulloso abuelo de dieciséis nietos y un amoroso bisabuelo de diez bisnietos.

Era un apasionado del fútbol y apoyaba con orgullo a sus equipos favoritos, C.D. Dragón y FC Barcelona. A Carlos también le encantaba escuchar música, especialmente la marimba, lo cual le brindaba una gran alegría. Disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos, llevarlos al parque y divertirse poniéndose botas para meterse en las frías aguas del río en las montañas. Uno de sus mayores placeres era visitar El Salvador y realizar viajes por carretera a lugares llenos de recuerdos de su infancia y de historias de sus primeros años de vida.
