Carol Joy
Taylor Egan
Aug 15, 1939 — Oct 4, 2021
Carol Joy Egan, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021 in Provo, Utah. She was born on August 15, 1939 in Burley, Idaho, to Norma Gower, and at six years old was raised by Lola Hess and her father, John Taylor. Carol married the love of her life, Leonard Norman Egan, on September 9, 1957 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Carol spent most of her childhood in Vancouver, Washington. After her wedding to Norman, they moved to Provo/Orem, Utah. They were married for 64 years and she spent every single one laughing at his jokes and holding his hand. Together, they created a beautiful legacy with 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Carol always took time to care for those around her. Carol was also an avid reader. She was known for her big heart, strong will, and warm hugs.
Carol was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Norman Egan, and her granddaughter Autumn Brooke Taylor.
Carol will be sorely missed and is survived by her husband, Leonard Norman Egan; her children, Nickie (David) Winterton, Karen (Laine) Lee, Connie (Steven) Swensen, Susan Taylor, and Marshall (Nan) Egan; her 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. It will be a happy reunion when we see her again.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held on October 7, 2021 at the Utah Veteran's Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah.
