Carol Dean Yates, age 76, passed away on June 12, 2024, at her home in Cedar Fort, Utah, after a long illness. She was born on June 24, 1947, in Tooele, Utah, to Dean and Nancy Smith. Carol spent her childhood in Cedar Fort and graduated from Lehi High School.

Carol cherished her family above all else, finding great joy in spending time with them. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, eagerly awaiting visits from them.

In her leisure time, Carol indulged in her passion for crocheting, sharing her creations with others. She was also an avid fan of NASCAR and the NFL, finding excitement and pleasure in following the races and games.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Dean Smith. She is survived by her loving mother, Nancy; her children Jim (Stefani), Carol Ann (Chris), and Dean; her brother Wayne (Karen); her sister Lori; her nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nephews. Carol will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at a later date with family.
