Carole Jeanne Brundage, long time resident of San Luis Obispo, CA passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Lehi, UT. She is survived by her three children, Joe (Brooke) Brundage, Nathan (Kate) Brundage, and Amy (Adam) Clark, and her 14 grandchildren.

Carole was born on February 1, 1940 in San Francisco, CA to Henry and Thelma Hoppe. She was raised in San Francisco and attended Lowell High school, where she graduated in 1957. After high school Carole attended San Francisco State for a year before transferring to Brigham Young University where she studied and graduated in Elementary Education in 1961.

Carole was always adventurous and lively. While in college at BYU, she took flying lessons, worked on a masters degree in children's literature, and was the president of the Nautilus Social Unit. She loved music and played the piano, clarinet, and the guitar.

After graduation, Carole taught school in Bakersfield and Goleta, CA before getting married and moving to San Luis Obispo, CA. Years later, Carole was a beloved teacher at Bishop Peak Elementary School (1988-2000) and she cherished her experiences and associations there.

Carole married Joe Brundage on November 22, 1969 in the Oakland, CA temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The two of them lived together and raised their three children in San Luis Obispo for 50 years until 2019 when they moved to live in Lehi, Utah. Her husband, Joe passed away on November 29, 2019. Carole joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1954 at the age of 14 and remained faithful her whole life, serving in many positions in the church, teaching, being a Cub Scout Leader, and serving in presidencies.

Carole was always a friend to all, welcoming and embracing everyone who met her. She was easy to talk to, being very social with anyone willing to talk. If you were her friend, you were her friend for life. She loved her family and family traditions. Her focus in life was always her family and family togetherness. She especially loved her 14 grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her life will be celebrated through a public viewing and graveside service on Thursday, December 23, 2021. The viewing will be held at Wing Mortuary in Lehi Utah (118 East Main Lehi, UT) at 11:00am-1:00pm. The graveside service will be held directly after the viewing at the Lehi Cemetery at 1:00pm. An additional memorial service will be held in San Luis Obispo, CA in the summer (TBA).
