Carolyn Degelbeck Berry

Carolyn Degelbeck Berry, age 82, passed away Sunday morning June 21, 2026 in Orem, Utah.

She was born December 24, 1943, in Lehi, Utah to Edwin John Degelbeck and Helen Clara Jorgensen Degelbeck. She was the third of six children.

Carolyn lived in Lehi the first few years of her life and then moved with the family to Ophir, Utah when she was 5 years old.

She attended Ophir Elementary School, Tooele Jr. High School and Tooele High School, graduating in 1962. She married Norman W. Berry on March 10, 1967, who was from Cedar Fort, Utah. They lived in Tooele for a few years before moving to Cedar Fort where they built a house and raised a family. Carolyn was a hard, dependable worker all her life.

She worked at various jobs throughout her work career and enjoyed working most with children. The last five years of her life were spent at a skilled nursing facility in American Fork, Utah.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; son, Casey; her mother and father, Ed and Helen; and her siblings Mary Alice, Deanna, and Max.

She is survived by her son, Kirby; grandsons, Brett and Chase Berry; sister Christine (John); brother Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was a kind, loving, compassionate person. She had a twinkle in her eye, a contagious smile, and a lead foot.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Cedar Fort Church at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Cedar Fort Cemetery.
