Carolyn La
Vaun Edwards Cook
Oct 29, 1938 — Feb 17, 2026
Carolyn La Vaun Edwards Cook, our beautiful mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at her home in Cedar Fort surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born October 29,1938 in Stockton, Utah, to William Price Edwards and Edith La Vaun Edwards. A natural caretaker at a young age, Carolyn helped raise her younger siblings and carried that nurturing spirit throughout her life.
Carolyn married her love Clyde Henry Cook on November 23, 1957, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. After marrying, Carolyn and Clyde raised their family in Cedar Fort where Carolyn remained after Clyde's passing. She was a devoted wife and mother, together with her husband of over 58 years, always by his side, supporting him in his work and farming endeavors.
As a mother, Carolyn spent her days caring for their 5 daughters and managing the household always ensuring things at home ran smoothly. She passed on her strong work ethic, nurturing spirit, and compassion to her daughters and grandchildren.
She had many jobs outside of the home, however her greatest accomplishment was her family.
She was an avid reader and especially loved historical fiction. Family gatherings were the highlight of her life and she always looked forward to celebrating Christmas and the 24th of July.
Carolyn recently moved into the Covington Senior Living Center where she spent the last few months of her life forming many friendships and enjoying her time participating in center activities. After her stay at Covington she returned to her home in Cedar Fort where she spent her remaining days.
Carolyn will be remembered for her strength, grace, loving spirit and generosity. Her life was a beautiful example of quiet devotion to family, and her legacy will live on in all who knew her and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde, her parents William and La Vaun, brothers Bill and Danny, and Clyde's siblings. She is survived by her siblings Ron (Linda) Edwards, Ken Edwards, and Liz (Mike) Edwards; her daughters Desiree (Kirk) Lee, Deann Adams, RuthAnn (Gaylon) Powell, Linda Cook, and Clydene (Doug) May; her grandchildren Erica (Jared) Robinson, Colby (Hollie) Bryant, Nicole (Moshe) Bryant, Wil (Katie) Adams, Alex (Heather) May, Zachary (Jordan) Duvall, Dylan (McKayla) May, Braxton Powell, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Cedar Fort Cemetery on Tuesday February 24, 2026, at 1:30 pm, Cedar Fort, Utah. A luncheon will follow at the Cedar Fort LDS church house.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the CommonSpirit Holy Cross Hospital, and Quality Home Health and Hospice for the care and support shown to Carolyn and our family during Carolyn's final days.
