Charles Edmund Conover Jr
April 4th, 1941 - September 22nd, 2023

Charles, also known to some as Charlie, Chuck, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, son, husband, and father, passed away and returned home Friday, September 22nd, in American Fork, Utah.

Charles was born in Bell, California to Charles Edmund (Sr) & Winnie Nelda Conover.  He was second oldest in a large family, and was the oldest son.  He joins his parents, and many of his siblings that preceded him in parting.  Departed siblings include: Winifred (Louise) Lore, Wilson, Kenneth, William (Bill), Robert (Bob) Conover.  With, Mary Hansen, Ray, Daniel Conover living.

He married his departed wife Paula Claire and created their own family of six children, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Charles & Paula's children, and their families are as follows:  Antonio & Bonnie (daughter) Tinoco, Luciana (Heather) Valarde-Tinoco, Jimena (departed in infancy), Aliana, Ebonique Simmons. Martin A & Mariah Tinoco, Serena, Jericho, Jasper, Sonya (prenatal) Tinoco, Weston & Mimi Wardle, Crystal, Jasmine, Evangelina, Jeannena, Elena Tinoco.

Richard (son) & Lori Conover, Carly Hunsaker, Casey Conover, Bradley & Courtney Harris, Oakley Harris, Cassidy, Colby, Cady Conover.

Charlie & Barbara (daughter) Young, Davies Young, Jake & Shayla Young, Gracie, Evalyn Young.  Dan & Marti Bebo.

Charles Stephen (son, departed in infancy).

Paul (son) & Lynda Conover, Breana, Miranda (departed in her youth), Micah, Tanner Conover,  Colton Thomas, Jordan & Victoria Thomas.  Cameron & Citori Larsen, Chandler Larsen.

Isaac & Sabrina (daughter) Sharp, Trisha & Tanner Escamilla, Maverick Creviston, Scotti, Kyro (prenatal) Escamilla, Starlight Sharp.

Charles studied carpentry at Utah Technical College where he earned an associate degree while continuing to battle severe learning disabilities throughout his life.  He learned many skills and worked in several fields, with the one he enjoyed most early in his marriage, being a ranch hand, where he, and Bonnie as a young girl, were bucked off his horse.  Charles also, worked in carpentry, security guarding, construction (both as his own business & others), asphalt, sales, truck driving, cabinetry, and facilities.  Ultimately, retiring early from over a decade at NuSkin.

Things Chuck enjoyed included Scouting, hunting, camping, rappelling, mountain climbing, hiking, biking, swimming, holidays, and community events.  He spent a lot time serving and lifting others, especially when something impacted the community and individuals.  He was often digging out vehicles from snow banks, push starting vehicles, assisting stranded individuals, sandbagging rivers, befriending and opening his home to homeless individuals, and being willing to help his family with their individual needs, no matter if it be fixing cars for (or with) them, building or fixing their homes, or whatever else they might need.

While family life was extremely hard for his wife and children, through the hard, difficult mistakes and challenges of his life, he learned many life lessons from his use of agency, consequence, accountability, humility, change, repentance, and forgiveness that comes by and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.  While imperfect, his example for good, for bad, and for the childlike regression of mortality in his waning years, he is able to find the rest, and peace of the gift of Heavenly Father's divine Son.  May we all hope for the same.

Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 29th, 2023 @ Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah, 84043.  Viewing services will be immediately preceding from 9:00 am - 11:00 am.  All who wish may send their condolences, may do so, care of Wing Mortuary.  Interment will take place at Payson City Cemetery, 805 E. 400 N., Payson, Utah following the completion of services.
