Charles Kenneth Siefert, beloved husband, father, grandfather and centenarian great-grandfather, passed away at his home on October 8, 2020. He was born on July 14, 1918, in Los Angeles, CA, to John Wise Siefert and Mary Grace Brown.

Charlie served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and, when the United States became embroiled in World War II, 2 years in the Coast Guard Maritime Service (aka Merchant Marines), as a 2nd Assistant Operational Engineer, serving in the Pacific.

He was introduced to his best friend's sister, Alice Ruth Ricks, who introduced him to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were married in North Hollywood, CA, on January 21, 1942, and were later sealed in the Utah Logan Temple.

After the war, Chuck and Ruth lived in Coquille, OR, for about 10 years, where they began their family of 3 daughters and where they served faithfully in organizing and building up a small branch of the Church. Later they came to Lehi, to be close to the Ricks family for awhile, and then moved on to the Los Angeles area of Southern CA. Dad worked for several engineering companies before he eventually settled into a career as draftsman for the Navy at Port Hueneme, while Mom excelled in electronic guidance systems circuitry at Litton. When they retired they looked for a more peaceful scenic life in Grants Pass, OR, and then eventually made their way back to Lehi in 1998.

Dad and Mom were of a hard-working do-it-yourself generation, with a down-to-earth approach in everything they did: from scrimping and saving to build their home, to immaculate landscaping and gardening, to all aspects of provident living (they even perfected a delicious prize-winning recipe for whole wheat bread). Dad was of an artistic bent, enjoyed oil painting, and carried on his own family tradition by involving all of us in his photography endeavors. What a team they were, for nearly 72 years, and now are again! They respected those who were likewise industrious, painstaking, and honest in their dealings. And after they got the work done, they loved to jump in the car and take a trip to the mountains, beautiful lakes and forests of the Pacific northwest.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and his parents and brother. Survived by his 3 children, Patricia (Don) Christiansen, Kaye Willcocks, and Terrie (Brent) Wolf; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 16, at 10:00 a.m., at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment at the Lehi City Cemetery will be preceded by Military Honors. Online guest book at wingmortuary.com.
