Claude William Maxwell died peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Lehi, Utah, at the age of 94.

Claude was born on April 16, 1931, to William Maxwell and Lucille Cutler, and was raised on a small farm in Peoa, Utah. He married Laura Jane Blazzard on June 2, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of three children, Richard, Claire, and Robert.

Claude loved the gospel and had a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served three missions. As a young man, he served in the Central State Mission. Later, with his wife, he served in the Philippines and in Nauvoo, Illinois. He contemplated and understood the things of eternity, finding joy in temple service.

Claude was handy and resourceful. He had various jobs, including being a mechanic, driving a truck, and several business ventures, including owning his own excavation company. He creatively used his talents to help and serve others.

Claude lived life with happiness and humor sharing that with everyone he met.  He was easy-going and liked to read books. He enjoyed spending time outdoors especially on a snowmobile. He also loved and valued his family, and he knew that families are the most important part of life.

Claude lived in various places but always kept coming back to the Kamas Valley and built a home in Peoa, Utah, where he was greatly loved. He spent his last few years living in Lehi with his daughter, Claire.

He is survived by his daughter, Claire (Ray) Walker, as well as eight grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Jane, and his two sons, Richard and Robert.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 22, 2025, in the Peoa Ward Building at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be in the Peoa Cemetery.
