Clifton LaVerl Devey, age 89 passed away July 13, 2021 at Utah Valley Hospital. He was born June 15, 1932 to John Henry and Alta Eleen Harris Devey in Alpine, Utah.

He attended elementary school in Alpine and graduated from American Fork High School. He married Glennis Wing in the Salt Lake Temple on August 19, 1957. They were married for 64 years, and built their home in Lehi. They had one daughter Laureen (Lester) Molyneux, two sons, Glenn and David (Michelle) who survive him.

As a young man he served in the Utah National Guard. His father died when he was 4 years old. Life was difficult for the family after his passing. He had to always work odd jobs to earn money for anything he wanted. This taught him to work hard, a trait that he continued to carry throughout his entire life. In later years he learned to operate heavy equipment. This became his lifetime occupation until he retired.

He loved the outdoors and recreation and travel. He always had a motor home and a boat which provided the family with many vacations and fun times. They went to Lake Powell and Bear Lake for 25 years. He enjoyed his membership in the El Nautical Boat Club for 20 years. He loved snowmobiling in the winter.

After he and Glennis retired, they bought a home in Yuma, Arizona. They lived there for six months and in Lehi for six months. They made many friends and enjoyed riding ATV's with them in the desert for many years.

He enjoyed the Snowbird Del Oro Branch of the church and had many friends there. They resided in Yuma for 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Eleen (Ernest Urry), Thelma (Mark) Carrol, Lucille (KD) Mitchell, brother William (Bill) (Elaine) Devey, great granddaughter Jayden Cartwright. He is survived by his wife and children, 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
