Clint Michaelis of Lehi, Utah passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 29th with his wife, Geri, by his side. Clint was born and raised in Smithfield, Utah and had many fond memories of his childhood years in Cache Valley, including basketball and trout fishing in mountain streams.

He worked in a mill with his father until he was 15 years old when his family moved to Santa Maria, California.  After high school, he earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly) in San Luis Obispo, California.  During the summer before his senior year, he met Geraldine (Geri) Wanlass, and a year later they were married in the Los Angeles Temple on August 20, 1960.  After graduation, his career took their family to Washington and then to Indiana, where he was a Plant Manager for General Electric.  In 1974, he joined Sony and oversaw the building of a new plant in Dothan, Alabama. Clint and Geri would spend the next 15 years in Alabama raising their 4 children, serving in their church and community, and building lifelong friendships. Then, they moved to Escondido, California where Clint continued to work for Sony.  After brief assignments in Florida, New Jersey, and even back in Alabama, Clint retired from Sony in 1995. His distinguished career took him all over the world, but where he most liked to be was with his family.

He and Geri have 4 children, Jeff (Betsy), Stacy (Rick), Lee (Kathie) and Dan (Patty).  They have 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  Clint was preceded in death by his parents Harry Henry Michaelis and Lena Marie Janzen, his brothers Gene and wife Helen, Lyle and wife Zell, Odell (Mike) and wife Beverly, and is survived by his brother Kent and wife Marcy.

Clint served in his church and community throughout his life and, by example, taught his children the value of hard work and the importance of serving others. He lived his life with a quiet dignity, never needing to draw attention to his accomplishments or remarkable achievements.  Although he was a successful executive for Sony and a community leader, he was a kind and gentle soul who was never happier than when he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
