Obituary

Cloverne K Allred, age 80, passed away on May 30, 2020, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Duane Allred, and a son in law. Cloverne and Duane created a legacy of 6 children, 26 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. Her sister, brother, in-laws, and posterity all love her very much.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cloverne has an unshaken faith in her Heavenly Father, her Savior, and the eternal nature of families. She is a dedicated genealogist, and devoted a great deal of her life to researching family history.

What started as a temporary position working in the Oakland Temple became a 31-year passion. Cloverne worked in the offices of the Oakland, Provo, and Mount Timpanogos temples.

She handed down her love of music, art, and cooking to her family. For the Allreds, Cloverne is synonymous with Christmas fudge, a full cookie jar, and breaking out into song.

Cloverne is proud to be the daughter of a marine, and is a patriotic American through and through. That patriotism has been extended to Duane and Cloverne's posterity through their teaching and example. She was Miss Richland 1957, and was sponsored by the Marine Corps League and Auxiliary. Cloverne attended Brigham Young University, and loved serving in the church.

"I think the message that Duane and I would want our family to have is that the gospel is everything. And it's worth whatever sacrifices or efforts that it takes to stay strong in the gospel. Follow the prophet," said Cloverne. "We know the Savior and the forces of righteousness are going to win in the long run and so that's the side we'd better be on . . . Stay strong, don't cave in. Don't cave in to whatever forces Satan throws at you."

Interment took place in Lehi, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint Temple Construction Fund.
