Colleen Marie Peterson of Lehi, passed away September 15, 2025, at the age of 84. She passed with peace in her heart knowing she would see her two daughters, Susan Mitchell and Colette Peterson, her best friend, her mother, Jackie Southhouse again, along with her husband Bruce and many loving family members.
Colleen was born May 14, 1941 to Alberta Jacqueline Anderson Peterson and John Marlin "Buck" Peterson in Rock Springs, Sweetwater, Wyoming. She spent her first five years in Mountain View, Wyoming, where her father ran the Little America. They moved many, many times during her youth.
She married Bruce Lydale Peterson on July 5, 1957, and their marriage was later solemnized on January 24th 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Colleen loved helping people. She took many a meal into homes when needed. She was a great homemaker and cook, known for her delicious cinnamon rolls she would make and giveaway.
Colleen holds dear the gospel of Jesus Christ and she served faithfully in many callings in the church. Colleen was devoted to serving others. She lovingly cared for her special-needs daughter, Colette, for 45 years until her passing. She love to do yardwork and took pride in her yard, making sure it always looked beautiful!
Colleen got involved making quilts for children who were in many different circumstances, they have been sent all over the world. Even when her health declined and she moved to Bellaview Assisted Living, she kept making quilts. She inspired many of the residents, men and women, to take up making them to be donated to different organizations that serve humanity.
The most important thing in Colleen's life was her family. She loved them wholeheartedly. Colleen leaves behind two sons, Gene and his wife Robyn Peterson, Greg and his wife Dawn, 13 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren, siblings Roberta (Neal) Nelson, Mike (deceased) (Andrea) Peterson, Terry (deceased) (Cherie) Peterson.
