Colt Rushton

July 6, 1984 – May 18, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Colt Rushton, who left us at the age of 40, on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Born in Las Vegas Nevada in 1984 to Pam and Randy Rushton. Colt grew up in American Fork and Spanish Fork, Utah.  After a life marked by the challenge of addiction, resilience, and deep love, he is now at peace.

He found joy in fishing, golf, baseball, skateboarding, snowboarding, longboarding, drawing, painting, glass etching, building things, and playing with his beloved dog Liesl.  He was a kind and loving soul who cared deeply for his family and friends.  While he carried more than his share of burdens, he also carried a heart full of love and a laughter that could brighten the lives of everyone around him.  He made many lifelong friends in the recovery community.

Colt was a kind and sensitive soul who faced many battles throughout his life.  Though the road was often difficult, he carried a quiet strength that touched the lives of those who knew him.  His struggles never dimmed his compassion, his sense of humor, or his love for his family and friends.

He is survived by his Mother Pamela Knox Jacobs (Dennis Harris) his sisters Brooke and Randi Rushton (Anthony Lister) his brother Brandon Rushton (Summer), nephews Logan, Layton, Jordan, Tristan his nieces Kayla, Kyleigh, and grandnephew Mac, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.  We take comfort in knowing that his pain has ended, and he has found peace.

He was preceded in death by his Father Randy Rushton (Lehi, Utah), his Grandmother Sharon Knox (Lehi, Utah), his Cousin Kyle Hutchings (Lehi, Utah), his Aunt Teri Perry and Uncle Don Perry of Washington state.

His funeral will be held at Mount Timpanogos Park Hosting Center at the mouth of Provo Canyon (next to the Murdock diversion dam) on May 31 between the hours of 4 pm and 6 pm. Where we will celebrate his life, remember his spirit and say our goodbyes.

Though he is gone, Colt will always be remembered for his compassionate heart, his courage, and the love he gave so freely.

Service:

Services will be held at the Mt. Timpanogos Park, Hosting Center, which is located at the mouth of Provo Canyon (next to Murdock diversion dam).  Celebration of Colts' life will be on Saturday, May 31, 2025, starting at 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.

Directions:

Go East on 800 N. in Orem, Utah to the mouth of Provo Canyon until you reach the Murdock Diversion Dam.  Directly to the north you will see the Mt. Timpanogos Park Hosting area.  There will be a temporary sign with "Colt's" name and an arrow pointing the direction.
