Connie Marie Brooks Grace passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on April 27, 2024. She was born on February 26, 1951, in the old Lehi hospital to John Albert Brooks of Lehi and Lucile Ellinore Lloyd, of Riverton, Utah. She was the sister of Beverly Lucile Evans (Dan), Ralph Albert (Sandy), Lloyd Ray (Linda), Bert Norman (Vera), and Nolan Thomas (Marie).

She married the love of her life, Kenneth (Butch) James Grace on February 28, 1969, in the old, red-brick, LDS, 3rd, 7th, and 12th Ward building on 300 West and State Street, Lehi. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo, Utah Temple. After their marriage, Butch and Connie spent as much time together as they possibly could. They lived, for a time, in Hunter and American Fork, then spent the remainder of their married life in the same home in Lehi.

They were the parents of two sons and four daughters, all of whom learned to love music as they grew up listening to her melodious lullabies. They would later join Connie and Butch in performing and singing, as a family group, at various venues such as ward parties, nursing homes, dances, Lehi Roundup Days events, and the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork.

She loved her family dearly and sacrificed much of her time and effort for her husband and children. She inspired her children to succeed at whatever they put their efforts towards. She helped each of them especially develop a love of music, each one playing one or more musical instruments and each developing their singing talents. This has carried over to her grandchildren as well.

Connie was gifted with an angelic, singing voice which she developed when she was just a child, with the help of her mother, Lucile. She was self-taught on the acoustic, twelve-string guitar, and taught her husband, Butch, to play the bass guitar. She formed a band called "Music City" in the early 1970s, with rotating band members including brothers Bud and Terry Nielson, Kay Abel, Cindy Burnsed, Casey Connor, Dave Hamby, Jeanette Jeppson, and their sons Ken and Clayton Grace. She and Butch were the one constants for the group. She was often accompanied by one or more of her four daughters, Kristi, Cammy, Kelly, and Cari, at various times.

She loved to provide service with her voice and sang favorite songs at hundreds of funerals throughout the state, and even out of state. People would ask her to sing specific songs at their funerals years in advance. It gave her such joy to think that her voice could bring a measure of peace to families during their time of deep sorrow. She has now added her voice to the celestial choir.

Connie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. She served in many church capacities throughout her life including primary teacher, Primary, Relief Society and Young Women's presidencies, and visiting teacher. Her favorite callings were as primary music leader, and she especially enjoyed her mission call to serve as a family home evening parent and music leader at the Utah State Penitentiary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Albert and Lucile Ellinore, her older sister Beverly Lucile Evans, and her older brother Ralph Albert. She is survived by her husband Kenneth (Butch) James Grace, and her children Kenneth Edward (Vickie), Kristi Lyn Manseau (John), Clayton James (Amy), Cammy Lee Wilcox (Jeff), Kelly Jo Carrillo (Matthew), and Cari Anne Jones (Josh), and three brothers Lloyd Ray, Bert Norman, and Nolan Thomas. Connie has 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with one great-grandchild on the way.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Alan, Maddy, Kylee, Anna, and Mason of December Rose Senior Care for their selfless and professional services provided for many difficult months. They truly offered Christ-like love and concern during a challenging time for both Connie and her family.

Services for Connie will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1149 N 300 W Lehi, Utah 84043 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held Monday evening, May 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Wing Mortuary, and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 7. Burial will be at the Lehi City Cemetery.
