Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Curtis Chatwin, our husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and friend on January 24th, 2024.  He was born in American Fork, UT on August 17th, 1966, to his parents Tex and Laraine Chatwin.  He will be remembered for his integrity, willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and great love and commitment to family.

He attended elementary school in Orem, UT, and then Lehi High school. He graduated later from Alpine Life and Learning Center in 1997, where he was recognized for his determination and selected to be a speaker. He worked at Skyline Industries and Geneva Steel before beginning 25 years with Lehi City, where he eventually ended his career as a supervisor over the Storm Drain Department. Curtis loved and respected his crew and was always available to advise or get his hands dirty.

On March 6th, 1987, he married the love of his life Kelli Jean Grace. Theirs was a love story for the ages, beginning early in their marriage when Kelli suffered a massive stroke and Curtis devoted himself to the miracle of her complete recovery.  Over the next 37 years, they made many cherished memories working together, traveling, camping, and most importantly, spending time with family.

Curtis loved fishing, especially with the grandkids. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting with his dad, son and grandson, and side by side rides with the whole family.  And any time spent in the mountains, especially Strawberry Reservoir.

Curtis valued his family above all else.  Together he and Kelli raised their 2 children, Amber (Tyler) Jacobson and Tyler (Mercedes) Chatwin.  The icing on his cake were his beloved grandchildren, Haylee, Hudson, Harper and Holland Jacobson  and Jace and Ashlynn Chatwin.

A viewing will be held Monday, January 29th from 6-8 pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main St., Lehi, UT.   There will also be a viewing Tuesday, January 30th, from 10 -11 a.m. at the same location.  A graveside service for family and friends will follow at the Lehi City Cemetery, 1525 North 600 East, at 11:30 a.m.
