Dallin Ilia
Dixon
Nov 30, 1994 — Nov 25, 2020
Dallin Ilia Dixon, the "Jewel of Kazakhstan," was born in Taldy-Kargon, Kazakhstan on November 30, 1994. He was scooped up out of the orphanage, and that life of trauma and chaos at the age of five. His parents, Dane Loran and Nadine Smith Dixon were led to find this adorable child, and bring him into their family. He brought joy to their home, as they learned from him, played with him, and loved and cared for him. When hearing the words "Dallin is so lucky to have you," their thoughts were, "We are lucky to have him."
Dallin taught us about unconditional love, kindness, tenderness, helpfulness, and child-like joy. As a young boy, he loved playing in the sandbox for hours with figurines, listening to Harry Potter, (he could quote you parts of the book), he could win the game "Memory" every time, he loved making up games in his head. He loved animals and they loved him back. He was a strong kid and excelled in wrestling. He played football for Lehi High school, was on the honor roll, and was an Eagle Scout. He loved scouting adventures. He respected and loved his scouting and church leaders.
Then one day, his complex mind started breaking, it caused him much pain. It has been a rocky road for him and his family as they watched him suffer. He worked as a server, at a couple of restaurants. If anyone has been served by Dallin, they knew they had the best service ever.
This beautiful soul, in his last years of life, taught us about the purpose of suffering, and surrendering our will to God's will. He deepened our understanding and compassion for those who suffer from mental illness. He taught us how to love freely.
On November 23, 2020, Dallin chose to surrender to his pain and release his soul into his new eternal journey. He has learned all he needed from his beautiful earthly body and his complex mind. Our experiences that are weighing us down while missing him, are insignificant compared to the perpetual overwhelming, soaring joy he is experiencing now.
Rest in peace our dear son, brother, uncle and friend.
Dallin is survived by his parents, his siblings, Dustin (Kristen) Dixon, Jessica (Matt) Walker, Elise (Bronson) Webb, Hannah (Chris) Petersen, and Carson Dixon. Also his nieces and nephews who he adored, Kaylee, Dane, Eli, Sean, Maddie, Jake, Tracen, Kyler, Korbin, Lydia, Kya, Emery and Grandparents Loran Davis and Shirley Merrill Dixon.
