Dan Wayne
Phillips
Feb 21, 1958 — Dec 31, 2023
In loving memory of Dan Wayne Phillips, a remarkable man whose journey included triumphs both on the football field, local mountains, rivers, lakes, and in the heart of his family and friends. Dan passed on Sunday, December 31, 2023, leaving behind a legacy as a devoted husband, incredible father, proud and tireless grandfather, and the best fisherman Utah has ever seen. The sun will set on sadder days with his absence.
Born February 21, 1958, Dan not only made a name for himself as an athlete and outdoorsman, but he also carried that same dedication and work ethic into every aspect of his life. He lived life hard and on his own terms. Whether he was casting his line into Deer Creek or instilling values into his sons and grandchildren, Dan was a giant of a man who exudes love, hard work, and a
determination for life that was unmatched. There was nothing that made him happier or more proud than his family and he loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. He loved his wife more than life itself and made sure to provide a life where all his loved ones were comfortable.
Dan was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Rodney Seth Phillips, his father Seth Lee Phillips, and his mother Pearl Athene Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Stacy Phillips, his four boys Dakotah (Brittany), Danley, Devon, & Dax (Shyley) Phillips, and his grandchildren McKinley Ray, Maizy Pearl, & Boston Wayne Phillips, and sisters Lauri Valerio, Susan Valerio (Jerry), & Russell (Kathy). Dan fully embraced the roles of husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend with grace and loyalty; where he didn't let you leave his side without letting you know he loved you. He will be missed by so many.
If you knew Dan, you knew the most loyal friend who would do anything for you. He was an iconic and unforgettable man who will leave a Dan-sized hole in all of our lives. Dan's enduring spirit and love will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who were lucky to know him and share in his journey. He will live in and around all of us all forever.
The family invites friends and well-wishers to celebrate and honor Dan's life at a viewing Friday, January 5th, 2024 at 6-8 pm and a memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at Wing Mortuary in Lehi,
UT with a short viewing at 10 am before the service.
