Danny James McClellan, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, age 67, of Lehi, Utah, passed away on Tuesday, May 26th.

He was born on December 29th, 1958 in Provo, Utah to Wayne Jasper McClellan and Carol Greenhaul. Danny was the youngest of five children, with two older sisters and two older brothers, whom he stayed close with his entire life. They vacationed and camped together as much as possible.

When Danny was young, his family moved from Santaquin to east Orem near the mountains, where his love for riding motorcycles and being outdoors flourished. It was also in Orem at Windsor Elementary that Danny first met his sweetheart of 46 years, Wendy Robbins, while they were in the 5th grade. On March 28th, 1980, Danny married Wendy, and they were later sealed together in the Mount Timpanogos Temple in 2010.

Danny loved to laugh, and it was his family that he loved to laugh with the most. He spent every moment he could with his loving wife, three sons, and five grandchildren. He taught his family that no matter how hard things might get, the situation will pass and there will be joy and laughter around the corner. He was also extremely popular and had many friends, he joined jeeping clubs, had sand dune-going friends, and talked to anyone in the neighborhood who had motorsport toys, inviting them to join him and his friends on weekend rides and treating them like old friends by offering to help them fix their machines if they broke down.

Danny had a work ethic of extreme tenacity that was rivaled only by his many passions. He would often brag about one of his first jobs being at a local garage in Orem, where he saved all of his money to buy his first motorcycle and learned the tricks of the trade to fix the engines himself. This work ethic led him to do many things in his formative years, however, his main occupation was truck driver for Geneva Rock for over 35 years, from which he retired.

Danny was a true jack of all trades, nothing was too complicated for him to attempt himself. From successful engine repairs, to finding jet skis from the junk yard to fix up for a quick buck, to tackling his biggest project of building his and Wendy's forever home with the assistance of his three sons. No problem was too big for him to dive into and attempt to fix first, and if he couldn't fix it, he would at least try to hot glue it back together.

Outside of taking care of his family and spending time with friends, Danny's hobbies included anything full-throttle. From building hot rods and dune buggies, to maintaining various collections of motorcycles, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and side-by-sides. Every place he moved, the backyard would soon be replaced with an additional garage, he knew that he would be spending weeknights with his sons fixing up various motor toys that he would then have them push to the limits on the weekends.

It was this full-throttle attitude that Danny could never suppress, no matter how hard he tried, that made his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis so difficult. While there were ways he tried to adapt to his new reality, the disease took from him so much of what made life feel like his own. That loss was something he carried heavily, and those closest to him felt it alongside him.

In the end, it was the disease that had defined so many of his hardest years that ultimately took him from us. He is now free from that struggle and he will be remembered not only for the difficult years, but for the man he was before then and the joy he carried throughout.

Danny is survived by his loving spouse of 46 years Wendy McClellan; sisters Christie Whitlock and Sally Gale; brother John (Sherene) McClellan; sons Dustin (Ashley) McClellan, Jacob (Ashley) McClellan, and Clint (Macy) McClellan; five granddaughters Kenzie, Emrie, Addie, Kaycee, and Emma McClellan; step grandsons Gavin and Garrett Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Carol McClellan; his brother Jody McClellan and many other family and cherished friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 11:00 am at Lehi Cemetery located at 1000 N 400 E St Lehi, UT 84043. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Danny's life.

The family would like to thank Lehi Fire Department Station 82 for all that they have done in assisting Danny and his family these past few months.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Danny's name be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Danny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
