Darlene Susan Draper, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at her home in Lehi, Utah.  She was born on September 28, 1946 to Eugene Owen Draper and Eileen Mary Roskos Draper in Provo, Utah. Darlene was the oldest of 5 children in her family. She is survived by her only child, Troy Allen Draper, 2 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren, and her 3 youngest siblings, Sandra (Les) Morrill, LuJean Draper, and Tom Draper. Darlene is preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Diane Draper.

Darlene enjoyed having the opportunity to live in many places like Virginia, Japan, Hawaii, Alaska, Georgia, California, and Colorado. Mostly these places where she lived were due to being in a military family. However, for the past 30 or so years she made her home in Lehi, Utah and stayed.

She worked in many types of jobs in her lifetime. Darlene usually liked working mainly in the service industry. She liked having the opportunity to forge new friendships. She loved coming into a room and letting everyone know she was there, and was in charge. The last employment she had was for Lehi City from where she retired.

Living in Lehi brought Darlene some wonderful friends and neighbors. When her body was no longer able to do the things that she needed to do to live independently, so many stepped up to help her with her daily tasks and errands.

Darlene really enjoyed working in her gardens large and small. Planting and smelling the flowers made her happy. She found joy in sitting in the sun and looking at the birds as they played and
ate from her feeders. Cooking was relaxing and she enjoyed sharing the meals she made. She'd always made too much, and shared with others to show them how she appreciated them.

When she was in high school, she had the opportunity to learn cosmetology. She always had a natural knack for doing hair.
Darlene always loved having pets. She'd take in someone else's if it was needed. Or usually go to a shelter and adopt several. She loved them so much.

Darlene chose to not have a funeral. She didn't want her passing to be a sad one. Instead she would love it if you would show your love for her by 'Celebrating her life'. She just wanted you to know how much she loved all the wonderful people that helped her in the years she needed it.
