Dawnetta Diamond Platt

Our beloved Wife, Mother, and Nana, Dawnetta Diamond Platt, 54 from Lehi, Utah, passed away Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, early in the morning. Dawnetta was born May 17th, 1972 in Payson Hospital in Payson, Utah to Russell LaMar and Joyce Verlie (Hill) Diamond of Spanish Fork, Utah.

Dawnetta graduated from Spanish Fork High School, where she played basketball and was a track athlete, in 1990. After high school, she married her best friend, LaMar Platt. She went to night school to earn a nursing degree, then started a career in Labor and Delivery at Cottonwood Hospital before moving to LDS Hospital, then followed by IHC. She later became a Unit Coordinator, and helped set up Labor and Delivery units in both the Riverton and Park City Hospitals. She loved helping babies and new mothers.

Dawnetta found her true calling as a mother to three sons and one daughter. Her greatest pride was being promoted to Nana. She was happiest cooking for her family with produce from her garden, which she used to make the most amazing lasagnas. She loved spa dates with her oldest grandchild, Aria, making the twins, Kaylee and Brynlee, pretty by doing their hair and buying them pretty dresses, and was delighted to meet her first grandson Vincent, born just three weeks before her passing.

She is survived by her soulmate, LaMar, her loving sons, Michael Platt, Morgan Platt and his wife, Lexi, and their three daughters, Kristopher Platt and his wife, Parkar, and their son, and her wonderful daughter, KacieAnne Platt.

Services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing an hour prior at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, 1680 West 700 South, Lehi, UT 84043.
