Dea Ann Dumas

Dea Ann Dumas was called home to her Heavenly Father on July 22, 2026, where she was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Ross. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Dea was born on August 26, 1939, in American Fork, Utah, to Herbert Robert and Nellie Nelson Turner. She spent her childhood there and attended American Fork High School. On July 19, 1955, she married the love of her life, Ross Dumas. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1990. Together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage until Ross's passing in 2007.

After marrying, Ross and Dea made their first home in Midvale before moving to Sandy, where they raised their children. In 1976, they built the home in Lehi, Utah, where they would spend the rest of their lives together.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dea served in many callings throughout her life. One of her greatest blessings was serving alongside Ross in the baptistry of the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple.

Above all, Dea was the matriarch of her family. Her home was the heart of our family and the place where everyone gathered. Whether it was a holiday, a birthday, or Sunday dinners, Grandma Dea's house was the place memories were made. Every Christmas, family members looked forward to gathering at her house, where love, laughter, and traditions filled the home.

During the summer evenings, the front porch at Grandma Dea's house became another special gathering place. Family members and friends would visit for hours, enjoying one another's company. Those simple moments became some of the family's most treasured memories.

Another favorite family tradition was the annual Dumas Family Reunion camping trip in the Uinta Mountains. Every year, her descendants looked forward to gathering together to enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories. Those reunions reflected what mattered most to Dea, bringing her family together to enjoy one another's company and make memories that will be cherished for generations.

Dea's greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply. Her strength, unwavering faith, and unconditional love created a home where everyone wanted to gather. The traditions she established and the example she set will continue to bless her family for generations to come.

Dea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ross Dumas; her parents, Herbert and Nellie Turner; her brothers, Lewis Turner, Jack Turner, Rex Turner, and Holly "Duff" Turner; her sisters, Doris Wanless, Velma Turner, and Evelyn Turner; her infant daughter, Cindy Sue Dumas; her stillborn son; her granddaughter, Amanda Dumas; and her great-granddaughters, Mailee Dumas and Alyssa Hendricks.

She is survived by her children, Rex (Cindy) Dumas, Kathy Dumas, and Danny (Helly) Dumas; her brother, Kay "Dutch" Turner; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Her family will forever cherish her love, her example, and the countless memories they shared in the home that was the heart of their family.

A viewing will be held at Wing Mortuary, located at 118 E. Main Street in Lehi, on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately afterward at Lehi City Cemetery, 1525 N. 600 E., Lehi, Utah, where Dea will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband
