Dean B Smith passed away at home on September 28, 2023.  He was born on October 28, 1925 in Cedar Fort to Ralph and Elizabeth Berry Messersmith.

Dean married Nancy R. Smith on November 30, 1946 in Elko, Nevada.  He worked at Desert Chemical Depot and Tooele Army Depot and retired in 1974.  He then worked in farming and raising cattle.

Survived by his wife Nancy of Cedar Fort, son Wayne of Arizona and daughter Carol of Cedar Fort, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and eight great, great, grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the Cedar Fort LDS Chapel, 185 East Center Street.  Graveside service will be at 12:00 Noon in the Cedar Fort Cemetery, 210 South 100 West, with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
