Deanne Marie Phelps passed away Tuesday, August 27th at the age of 61 after declining health.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 29, 1962, to John Martin Torres and Mary Louise Johansen. Deanne was the oldest of four siblings.

Deanne was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mary Louise Johansen and stepfather, Donald Michael Johansen. Deanne missed her mother very much and it is comforting to know that they are together now.

Deanne is survived by her siblings: Lisa Kay Lundquist (Adam), Dawn Sabey (Casey), Donald Michael Johansen (Valerie). Her beloved son: Jeremy Phelps (Michelle). Three nephews and nieces: Josh Sims (Samantha), Jennica Sims, Jaden Sabey. As well as many Aunties that loved her.

Deanne graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah where she excelled in her studies. She worked at various jobs over the years when she was able.

Deanne loved to read, crochet, creative art projects, attend church, and family gatherings. When a young girl, summers were spent camping and hiking in the beautiful Utah mountains, taking trips to Yellowstone, and other National Parks.  She had a huge heart and a lot of love to give. She loved to talk to people and made friends wherever she went. She loved her dog, Bella.

The family would like to thank the many professionals at Alpine Rehabilitation Center for their care and service provided to Deanne.

We are very thankful and proud of her son, Jeremy who was able to step up and take care of Deanne when our mother was no longer able. Your time, efforts, and love are so appreciated. Your mother loved you dearly and so do we.

A celebration of life will be held on 1/14/2025 @ 4pm
