Debbie Lynne O'Donnal, 66, who was loved by all who met her, especially her sweetheart and family, unexpectedly passed away peacefully with her love by her side February 5, 2023. Debbie was born on January 19, 1957 to Neal and Dianna Hemmert in Soda Springs, Idaho, where she grew up and met the love of her life and together, they graduated from Soda Springs High School.
Debbie married Kevin O'Donnal and they were sealed in the Logan Temple for time and all eternity on March 8, 1974. They were just 31 days shy of celebrating 49 years of a wonderful happy marriage. Together they had five wonderful children, Shantel Debbie Bernabeu, Misty Ann Taylor, Justin Terrell O'Donnal, Haylie Lynne Cottle and Sheldon Craig O'Donnal.
Debbie and Kevin moved around some in the first years of marriage because Kevin was in the Army. They settled in Tacoma, Washington and raised their 5 children. After retirement, they moved to Utah and built their forever home.
Debbie spent her life loving her role as a mom to her dear children and being an awesome grandma to her wonderful grandchildren; whom she loves with all her heart. She loved spending time with her family, and one of her favorite things was making beautiful projects with her grandchildren.
Debbie loves Her Savior Jesus Christ and loves to serve others. She has been an active lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has an incredibly strong testimony of her Savior and the gospel. She has faithfully served in many callings in the church. Most recently serving as an ordinance worker in the Mount Timpanogos Temple with her sweetheart and with her daughter Haylie. She loved the people she worked with at the temple.
Debbie was always seen with a smile on her face and lit up every room she walked into. She was the light and rock of her sweetheart's life. She was an instant friend to everyone she met. You couldn't be around her without feeling her love. There was no one better than her. She was always willing to drop whatever she was doing to help her family or anyone else in need. She is a true example of Christlike love. She held no ill feelings towards anyone.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother Dianna Sheri Hemmert who passed away. She is survived by her father, Neal Hemmert, Her loving Husband, Kevin O'Donnal and her five wonderful children, Shantel Bernabeu, Misty Taylor (Robert), Justin O'Donnal (Kelly), Haylie Cottle (Kevin), Sheldon O'Donnal (Kristen), her 22 grandchildren who bring her so much joy, and her sisters Carol Woods (Devin), and Wendy Seelye (Don).
