On July 30, 2021, Debra Lynette Terry Dufur passed from this life surrounded by love.

Debbie was born October 29, 1959, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Jay and Marilyn Terry. They moved to Concord, California, when Debbie was 5 she attended El Monte Elementary and Loma Vista Jr High, graduating from Clayton Valley High School in 1977. She married Michael Dufur on May 5, 1979, in the Oakland, California Temple. She was eternally grateful for their 4 beautiful children, 8 adored grandchildren and the life they shared in Lehi, Utah.

Debbie's 61 years of mortality illustrated what it means to be a genuinely good human. She held many cherished roles, which she fulfilled triumphantly. A fiercely loving, devoted, loyal wife, mother and grandmother, her family knew without doubt that they were her #1, her very favorite people on the planet. As the oldest child of 7, she was an example of reliability, grace, strength, support and love. In line with her chosen profession as a Cosmetologist (Von Curtis, Provo, Class of '94), she was an excellent listener and dubbed the "world's greatest back scratcher and head massager." Debbie was a deep-well of compassion and empathy, always without judgement, and could be counted on to "tell you like it is" in honesty. She found delight in cheerleading the causes of everyone she came across. Debbie always remembered what was happening in your world and would ask for updates and how she could be of assistance. Her life was filled with kindness, service, selflessness, optimism, faith, humor, generosity, integrity, and charity which was expressed formally in religious callings such as Relief Society President, Primary President, Young Women's advisor (she went to girls' camp nearly 20 times and loved it), and Compassionate Service Leader and informally as she consistently made others a priority as a friend or family member. Debbie lived this way regardless of any personal struggles or challenges she might have been experiencing. She was a champion of humanity and she, along with her infectious belly laugh, will be profoundly missed.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Mike, her children, Crystal (Kyle) Mayfield, Brytnie (Dusty Fielding, fiancé) Dufur, Derryck (Marissa) Dufur and Taylor (Hayley Bermingham) Dufur and her grandchildren: Robbert and Seisoni Mayfield, Myer Holman, Rusty and Jace Dufur, Braxton, Trycen and Skyler Dufur. She leaves us but joyfully rejoins her father, Jay, and her sister, Kari, along with other beloved ancestors who preceded her.

Finally, Debbie was known for her huge love of inspirational quotes so a tribute to her life would be incomplete without one. Winnie the Pooh said it perfectly and we can imagine his words on Debbie's hair salon wall, framed, written in a script-type font: "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
