Dolores Arlene Steadman was born on August 24th, 1929 to Herbert and Clover Steadman in Cedar Rapids Iowa. She was the second of 6 children.

In 1934 at the age of 5 her family moved to California, Dolores graduated from South Gate High School.

In 1950 she met Bud Lumsden at a dance in the Ross Ballroom in Huntington Park. Her first date with Bud was July 6th (Buds birthday) and he took her to dinner and a movie at the California theatre in Huntington Park.

Bud and Dolores were married on June 7th 1952 in a Methodist church in South Gate California.

They had a 3-week honeymoon visiting Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and Yosemite National Park.

Even as years passed, if you ever drove up to Santa Barbara with Dolores, she would always point out where they stayed on their honeymoon.

Bud and Dolores' first apartment was in South Gate California where they lived for 3 years.

In 1955 they welcomed their first-born son …William Gary Lumsden, a few months after Gary was born, they bought their first home in Norwalk California. In 1958 Brian Kenneth came along and the Lumsden clan would be complete.

In 1962 the Lumsden's packed up and moved to South Gate California where they would raise their boys and reside for 18 years.

In 1980, When the boys were gone, Bud and Dolores bought a home in Downey.  While residing there both of their sons got married and they too bought homes in Downey.  At that time Dolores enjoyed bowling, lunch with friends and of course the bi weekly nail and hair appts.

Their Downey house hosted many backyard parties and Easter egg hunts for the grandchildren.

Dolores lost her beloved Bud in June of 2002 and stayed in Downey until 2012.

At the age of 82 Dolores bought a brand-new home in Temecula California and was so happy to be living there.

At the end of 2019 Both Brian and Gary were making decisions about following children and grandchildren to Utah.  This would mean Dolores also would need to be moved to be by her boys.  The timing was impeccable as Dolores was beginning to express that it may be the time for assisted living.

By the end of 2019, Dolores was moved to Covington Senior living in Lehi Utah.  She was Miss Congeniality in her new home as everyone there LOVED Dolores.  Covid took a toll on Dolores as she was not able to get out much and missed the interaction with people.

In July of 2021 she fell and broke her neck and even though she bounced back and celebrated her 92nd birthday with her family, she was never quite the same.

On November 24th 2021 with all of her children and many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren around that day, she peacefully passed and we all know had a wonderful reunion with Bud and many of her family members.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah.
