Donna June Jenkins Christiansen Presser

August 23, 1949 - August 22, 2025

Donna June, also known as June, was born to Lars E. Jenkins and Zina Thacker Jenkins on August 23, 1949 in Heber, Utah. She was the eldest of six children. June went to school in Lehi, Utah, graduating from Lehi High School in 1967. She was a member of the National Honor Society, National Forensic League, the American Legion, Drill Team, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Seminary program.

After high school June chose to attend Brigham Young University. She enjoyed dating and writing to many missionaries while also serving on the new student orientation committee. She received a scholarship in 1970 for excellent academic achievement and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1971. June received a teaching position in Vernal, Utah shortly thereafter where she met her husband Wendell John Christiansen. They were married December 22, 1972 in the Provo Utah Temple and had six children together, Nathan, Jacob, Kirsten, Erick, B.J., and Maren.

After losing her husband John to cancer, June started teaching again in the Vernal area until 1998 when she moved the family to Kaysville, Utah. There she taught home economics at North Layton Junior High and then South Davis Junior High in the Davis School District, focusing on cooking, child care, and sewing. She retired from teaching in 2013.

June enjoyed singing and was introduced to Laurence Presser by a mutual friend in a local choral group. They fell in love and were married for time in the Bountiful Utah Temple May 17, 2001. Larry had two children, Michelle and Jeff, who then joined the family. Larry passed away in April of 2022.

June had many interests and pursuits such as BYU Football, gardening, quilt making, cooking, canning, singing, writing, and family history and she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her many grandchildren. She completed a Masters of Education with an emphasis in Educational Technology from the University of Utah and graduated May 8, 2009. She also loved her faith and served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission in Salt Lake City, Utah and the Texas San Antonio Mission.

June fought a long battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer and with many other health challenges. She pushed through many days of severe illness, physical therapy, radiation, and chemotherapy. The family would like to thank those doctors, nurses, therapists, specialists, and hospice nurses for their dedication and care of our mother, sister, and grandmother.

June is preceded in death by her first husband, Wendell John Christiansen, and second husband, Laurence E. Presser, parents Lars and Zina Jenkins, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reed and Aleda Christiansen; sister and brother-in-law Kathleen (Gary) Shaw, and niece Emily Shaw, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul (Marcia) Christiansen, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Karalyn (Redge) Hermansen. She is survived by her children Nathan (Hildete) Christiansen, Jacob (Iliana) Christiansen, Kirsten (Joshua) Rumsey, Erick (Heather) Christiansen, B.J. (Holly) Christiansen, Maren (Landon) Gentile, step-daughter Michelle (Daniel) Gibby, and step-son Jeff (Emily) Presser; sister Annette (Rex) Hadlock, brothers and sister-in-laws Keith (Chris) Jenkins, Larry (Leslie) Jenkins, Craig (Corinne) Jenkins, and 33 grandchildren.

Viewing services will be held at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main Street, Lehi, Utah from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 and Saturday from 9-9:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Wing Mortuary beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Services will be streamed live on the Wing Mortuary Facebook Page and available to watch for 30 days after.
