Errol Bartholomew passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 4, 2025, at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. He was 85 years old.

Born on July 20, 1939, in Springville, Utah, Errol lived a life marked by devotion—to his family, his faith, and his country. He was a dedicated husband, father, and disciple of Christ, known for his energetic spirit and love of the outdoors. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and his loyalty to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shaped his daily living and service.

Errol married his sweetheart, Susan LaVonn Turner, at age 20. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage and raised seven children: Ron (Kris), Patty (Kelly), Kathy (Mark), Bryan (Michelle), Angela, Becky, and Michael (Kenna). He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his seven children; his sisters, Janet and Linda; and 29 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings Diane and Kay.

Professionally, Errol served as an administrator for the Bureau of Reclamation, working for the U.S. government. He was a proud veteran, having served in the 1457th engineering battalion of the National Guard. In 1991, he deployed alongside his son Bryan as part of Operation Desert Storm, and he retired after 24 years of military service.

Errol was active in the Boy Scouts of America, and all three of his sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout under his guidance. He had a deep love for nature and adventure. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter—his family often joked he had three speeds in life: fast, faster, and deer hunting. Later in life, he traded his rifle for hiking boots and a keen eye, finding joy in collecting shed antlers from deer and elk. He always wanted to hike "just one more ridge." In his final years, Errol developed a love for cycling, enjoying long rides that allowed him to stay active and connected to the outdoors. Errol's legacy of faith, hard work, service, and adventure lives on in the lives of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
