Gary Lynn Glover, 76, of Lehi, Utah passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, November 13, 2023. He was born in American Fork, Utah, on May 12, 1947 to Howard and Geraldine Ault Glover. He grew up and lived most of his life in Lehi. Gary married Shauna Dean in 1968 and together they had four children. They later divorced.  He married Penny Ann Maynard on October 14, 1991.

Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Lehi High School in 1965. He received an associate degree from the Utah Technical College in 1970. Gary worked as a mechanic in the 1457th Engineer Battalion, Utah National Guard. He loved his country and served for 23 years.

In his younger years, Gary loved to go deer hunting, fishing, and camping. He always had tinfoil dinners ready in the evenings and a full hearty breakfast for the entire camp on hunting trips.

He swore his .308 caliber deer rifle was the best in the world for hunting deer, because that was the caliber he trained on for the National Guard. He coached many youth baseball and basketball teams with great success, and took great pride in watching "his" players go on to have success in high school. To his dying day, he would talk about all the great players he coached, and you could feel the genuine pride he took in impacting young people's lives through sports. Those who played for Gary will always remember him with a smile on their face and grace in their hearts.

In his later life, Gary especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He and Penny could often be found in the audience of a school play or the bleachers of a sporting event. He was so proud of his grandkids and would brag about them to anyone who would listen!

Gary was preceded in death by his wife Penny, his parents, his brother Keith, and his daughter Rebecca Glover Uluave. He is survived by his children G. Todd Glover of American Fork, Utah; Jaime (Michael) Ward of Highland, Utah; Jodi (Jared) Pegram of Highland, Utah; and his brother Ken (Jena) Glover of Lehi, Utah. Gary is also survived by 14 grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. Family and friends are invited to a brief graveside service at the Lehi City Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at wingmortuary.com.
