Glade L Peterson, age 89, passed away September 16, 2024 with his family near him.  Glade was born on April 16, 1935 to Rulon and June Lynch Peterson.  He was the only boy born into his family to carry on the Peterson name.

Glade married Kay Peterson on Friday, April 13, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple.  Together they raised 3 children; Robert (Shiela), Cheryl (Gary) Thomas and Janet Olsen.

Glade is survived by his wife of 62 years, his children, their spouses, 7 grandchildren; Brody Bennett, Kyle Thomas, Jessica Thomas Latimer, Nicole Peterson, Taylor Thomas, Brittany Thomas, Braden Peterson and 2 great grandchildren; Hayden Latimer and Zander Bennett.  He will be welcomed into heaven by his newest great granddaughter "Ronnie" to be born in December.  Glade is preceded in death by his parents Rulon and June, his sisters; Elaine Kent Osborn, LuJean Rayl Hardy, Lynette Staheli Bingham and grandson CJ Olsen.

Through Glade's life he enjoyed participating in basketball and softball.  After high school he was challenged to ride a bull and that led to his time running with the rodeo circuit for a few years.  Glade always had a love for horses.  This is when he started training race horses and having show horses or just a leisurely ride in the canyon.  Once he hung up his saddle he turned to golf at the age of 50.  He also held many church positions.  One of his greatest accomplishments was entering over a million names in the indexing program.

The family would like to thank, Intermountain Homecare and Hospice for the care that he was given the past 6 weeks.  A special thanks to his nurse Marion and aid Ashlyn.

A viewing will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main Street, Lehi, Utah.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Parker Building Chapel, 1125 West 300 North, Lehi, Utah with a viewing one hour prior to service starting at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow in the Lehi City Cemetery.
