Grant Rudger Gordon passed away peacefully January 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Grant was born March 7, 1937 in Lehi "over the river" to Rudger M. Gordon and Ella R. Penrod.  He married Donna Rae Evans in the Salt Lake Temple on November 16, 1955.  Together they raised four children in the house they built on Lehi Main Street.

Grant graduated from Lehi High School were he excelled in wood shop.  Grandpa Pearson (the shop teacher) could see Grant's talent and hand-picked him to work in his son's cabinetry shop.  After working at the Sugar Beet Factory through high school, he went to work at Pearson Cabinet and Lumber Supply where he worked for 56 years, before finally retiring at age 75.  He judged the BYU Industrial Arts Show for several years.

Grant was a master-craftsman who built many beautiful pieces of furniture, cedar chests, and kitchen cabinets.  He was always happy to build small pieces of furniture, full kitchens, or anything requested for many friends and family.  All of his grandchildren were lucky enough to receive either a cedar chests or bachelor chest when they graduated from high school.

Grant served in the National Guard for thirteen years - losing a third finger there.  He lost two fingers to cancer prior to that.  Grant was always a hard-worker.  After a full workday at the cabinet shop, he went to work on the sugar beet farm, raising sheep, building cabinets /doing finish work in many homes, or working  on his own near-perfect yard at home.

Grant and Donna build a second home ("the Cabin") in Mt. Pleasant to share with the family, extended families and many friends. They both served in different capacities on the board of Pine Creek Ranch and made many friends on the mountain.  Grant was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He was a faithful home-teacher, ministering to many in their ward with his wife for may years.

Grant was preceded in death by his son, Grant Jeffery Gordon, of Lehi, Utah.  Grant is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donna Rae Gordon, his daughter, Kellie (Steve) Carlton, his sons Evan (Pamela) and Chris (Tisha) and daughter-in-law Delinda.

Grant is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Hope, Brooke, Bryan, Briton, Brady, McKenzie, Sophie, Jack, Whitley, Kanecia, and Savannah, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Grant was a man of few words but always had a smile and loved unconditionally.  He was endearing, easy-going, and easy to please.  He was not one to ever seek the spotlight or worldly acclaim.  He loved his coffee in the morning, the Cabin, and his family.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Wing's Mortuary, 118 East Main, in Lehi, Utah from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.  A graveside service will follow at Lehi City Cemetery, 1100 North 400 East at 12:00 p.m.
