Harold Richard (Rick) Pixler was born on July 26, 1954 in Aurora, CO to Harold William (Bill) Pixler and Laura Ann Capps. Growing up in an Air Force Family, along with his younger brother Scott, the family lived in Texas, Massachusetts and Illinois.

Rick met and married Lorelei Kolbartz and had three children and he married Janice Ryan and had six children:

Julie (Mark) Bancroft, Becki (Richard) Johnson and Jacob (Alicia) Pixler. They are the proud parents of 8 of Rick's grandchildren: Connor (April), Morgan, Gavin, and Rowan Bancroft; Rylei, Regan, and Reese Johnson and Cameron Pixler.

Amanda Porter (deceased), Kathryn (deceased) Ryan Pixler, Karli (deceased) Sarah Pixler (Roman), and Emily (Derek) Griffin. There are eight grandchildren: Jakob (Amber) Hardacker, Josef (Kelsi) Hardacker, Ashlin (Landon) Hardacker and Josslyn Porter; Keagan Pixler, Izzebel and Maddelyn Mathie and Deklan Griffin. There is also a sweet great-grandson named Leonel.

Rick met and married Wendy Calton and they have spent the last thirty years raising Christian and Savannah.

Anyone who knew Rick, knew that family and friends were important. Many life-long friends have reached out saying they've known him for 40 and 50 years. In addition to his love of family, he was an avid scouter and had 57 years of continuously registered activity in the Boy Scouts of America. He was the proud recipient of a Silver Beaver Award and had earned three beads participating in Wood Badge. He was currently teaching a Wood Badge course.

Rick passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at Intermountain Medical Center after a brief illness. He will be missed by many. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the new State of Emergency, there will be no funeral services at this time. There will be a private, by-invitation-only graveside service in the next week and then when it is safe to be together again, we will all gather to celebrate his life. In addition to his three daughters, he is preceded in death by both his parents and his youngest niece.

The family requests that you not send flowers. Instead, we ask that you do something in his honor to help a young man or woman and that you follow the Scout Slogan: Do a Good Turn Daily. Look for opportunities to help each other and support each other and love each other.
