Helen DeAnn Palmer passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family members in Lehi, Utah on September 7, 2023. DeAnn was born to Merrill and Erma Walker in Lehi on July 11, 1937 and as one of 11 children of the Walker home, she was raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

DeAnn graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and soon married Donald S. Palmer of Lehi, Utah. The couple relocated to Kansas and Texas while Don completed his military service. Together they had one son (Dale Elbert, deceased) and five daughters; Deia Burton, Debbie Dean, Diane Cardon, Dawna Entwistle and Danaca Hadfield.

After moving back to Lehi, Don and DeAnn owned a mink operation and created Palmercraft Quilting Company. Don created the foldable quilting frame and DeAnn wrote a quilting book and created original quilting patterns which she sold in their store on Lehi Main Street and Mormon Handicraft stores. Later in life, traveling and seeing the world with her husband became DeAnn's passion. She eventually turned that passion into the creation of Embassy Travel, a full service travel agency located in American Fork, Utah.

She enjoyed preparing Sunday and holiday meals for family and friends. The tradition of attending the Lehi miniature parade and Lehi roundup rodeo were among her favorites. Through the years, she helped construct many ward floats for the parade and taught her daughters the finer points of the "plastic pom-pom method" that she thought made the best floats. DeAnn loved Lehi and her country. She ran for public office, was involved with the Lehi Jaycees and performed in several community musical productions.

DeAnn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Don and DeAnn served full time missions in Dublin, Ireland, a Lehi seminary education mission and as church employment specialists for Utah County. Both Don and DeAnn were also called and served for many years as Timpanogos Temple workers.

DeAnn is survived by her children; Deia (David) Burton, Debbie (Stuart) Dean, Diane (Layne ) Cardon, Dawna (David) Entwistle, Danaca (John David) Hadfield. She leaves 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren in her loving remembrance. DeAnn is also survived by her siblings; Anita Woodmansee, LaDean Gillman, Myrlynn Norton, Pete Walker and Barbara Lassen.

A viewing will be held Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2178 North 1200 East in Lehi, UT beginning at 10:30 AM. Funeral service at 11:00 AM.
