Jack Melvin Harrington of Lehi, Utah passed away on September 8th, 2022, at the age of 89. Jack was born June 3, 1933 to James and Dorothy Harrington in Detroit, Michigan. The beloved husband, dad, and papa left his earthly home peacefully as he slept next to his wife of 67 years.

Jack enlisted in the Air Force in 1951. He married his sweetheart, Darlene Rose Taylor, on June 7th, 1955 in Buckeye, Arizona. Shortly after he was discharged from the Air Force, the newlyweds returned to Jack's home state of Michigan. After a few years, Jack was reminded that he didn't like the cold, so they returned to Arizona and raised their first 3 daughters; Debra, Rene', and Karen. Their last child, Jami, was born in Arizona but they moved to California soon after where they lived until Jami started high school. They then moved back to Arizona to be near family, where they stayed until a little over 2 years ago when they joined Jami's family in Lehi, Utah.

He was literally a "Jack of all trades". Jack started his career stacking lumber and retired as a developer in Southern California. He enjoyed working with his hands and spent the last two years helping Jami restore an old farmhouse and a church. He was happy and proud to share his knowledge with Jami & Zeb and worked at his trade until he passed.

He faithfully served the lord in various callings. His favorite of all was as a ward missionary. He loved teaching anyone he met about the true love of Christ. He never wavered in his faith of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife Darlene and four daughters; Debra (Darrel) Reynolds, Rene' (David) Painter, Karen (Rion) Ramsey, and Jami (Zeb) Ray, and his two sisters; Judy Beatty and Joan Hockwater.
He is the proud papa to 18 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Delores and Naomi, and his grandson Spencer.

There will be a private burial September 24th at 11:30 am at the Lehi Cemetery. Memorial service to follow at the LDS church building at 300 W 1149 N Lehi, Utah.
