James Don Peterson

1962 – 2025

James Don Peterson, beloved son, brother, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. He was born on July 13, 1962, in American Fork and was raised in Lehi. He is survived by his wife Anna Peterson, sons C.J. Peterson and Joshua Peterson [Mandy Peterson] and daughter Charlett Peterson, and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Jennica, Jackson, Brianna, and Angelica Johnson Peterson.

James married his high school love, Anna Scholl, on April 24, 1981. They had three children Clarence James Peterson, Charlett Peterson and Joshua Don Peterson. For the most part, they lived in Lehi. When their children started having kids of their own that is when the fun began. James and Anna loved their grandchildren with every part of their souls. When the grandchildren came over, it would light up their world. For them, nothing was better than seeing those little kids.

James was a welder. He started his career at St. George Steel, then he worked at a few different steel shops in his long career. He retired from the Glassey SteelWorks, shortly before his passing. He would tell his kids to work hard for what you want.

James fought a short battle with cancer. He was always the silent type but would get everyone laughing with one of his jokes. He is going to be missed dearly. When you needed a shoulder, he was always there.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced on social media.
