James Peter Suprise was born September 23, 1927 to Ethel Suprise and passed away peacefully at his home on September 11, 2020.
He was raised in New London, Wisconsin and Chicago Illinois, he moved to Utah to work on the railroad, where he met his first wife Donna Mann, later divorced.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1965 and after he was honorably discharged he worked as a welder at the Naval Shipyard in San Diego, California for many years. He met and married Josephine Margaret Gannuscio, they eventually moved back to Utah settling in Lehi, Utah. He was employed as a Boilermaker until his retirement and worked at power plants and on other projects in the Western United States.

Dad loved working in his yard and garden and always loved the Christmas season and decorating his yard and home. He also had a tremendous love for animals and pets. He raised horses, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits and Turkeys. He loved dogs and cats and even had a couple of unusual pets like a Shetland Pony, a three legged Coyote, Magpie and a Racoon.

James is survived by his daughters Vena Suprise (Kearns, Utah), Shauna & Tim Eckroth (Lehi, Utah and Ethel Ashworth (Lehi, Utah) and his sons Wendell & La Raine Suprise (Sandy, Utah) J. John & Tina Suprise (Sandy, Utah), Leonard & Marilee Suprise (Provo, Utah). 19 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great, Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Jospehine, son J.P. and daughter Gigi.

There will be a graveside service for family and friends at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale, Utah on Friday, September 25th, 2020 at 1:00 PM.  Military honors by the Camp Williams Honor Guard.
